I am currently reading for my MPhil in IT @ UOC. My thesis revolves around the Internet and it's impact on Sri Lanka. As part of my research I want to know about popular web-sites such as Elakiri.

I would be very grateful if anyone can provide the answers to the following simple questions:

(1.) When was Elakiri launched? i.e. Year and Month.
(2.) Who are the people behind Elakiri?
(3.) Is Elakiri owned by a company or by some individuals?
(4.) Why Elakiri.com and NOT Elakiri.lk?
(5.) In which country are Elakiri servers located?
(6.) What is the DB that stores all the information? Is it MySQL?

1) Elakiri.com domain Registered Date: 2004-03-16
2) GTRZ is the startup mastermind.

3)Individually Owned and run as a community.

4)Elakiri.lk is a parked domain of Elakiri.com

5)Mostly Offshore I believe - Washington , USA

6)Its MySL and Vbulletin Script acting as a cms.

7)I believe since the time Sinhala Unicode was introduced for Online applications roughly around 2008 or so.

8) It might be a couple of 3 digit MBs not GBs though but RAM and dedicated server is the current configuration I believe.

9) There are no similar sites Like Elakiri only copies of Elakiri itself run by others who tries to become another Elakiri but never will be.
