what is the second fan on smaller heat sink.As far as my knoledge is conserned core i 7 uses a integrated memory controller.So it is not the memory controller chip?.

Yes it uses an IMC and QPI, but there is still a northbridge in the original Nehalem. IIRC, in the next *upgrade*, there will be a single chip which will integrate the *current i7's NB functions* into the current SB (mainly ICH*), but i can't remember what that chip is called. Something having the meaning then "main controller" :/
