machan how far are u from the router ???? although u have the best configuration if u are too far from the router your connection slows down , and the main reason it's because a lot of guys are using a connection and if one of u do a large download the connection slows down..... so get a little bit closer to ur connection....

are u d/l smthing? microwaves and cordless phones disturbs the connection...
If you still don't have acceptable speeds, try wiring your computer directly into the router. See what speeds it gets that way to make sure the computer isn't the problem.
what kind of encryption you are using???. WEP supposedly takes away ~5-10% of speeds due to the encryption method used; WPA isn't as bad.


last Words - Wireless is completely different from wired connections and it isn't perfect.
