Networking පොරක් ගෙන් උදව් ඕන...

මචන්ලා.. මගේ තියෙනවා පොදි ස්ටූදඩියෝ එකක්. PC 5ක තමා එඩිටින් කරන්නෙ. එක එක PC වල වෙනම Backup දාලා එඩිට් කරන්න ගියාම හරි අමාරු දෙයක්. එකම Backup එක PC 2ක 3ක තියෙනවා. මට ඕන ලිනක්ස් ඉන්ස්ට්ස්ටොල් කරලා තියෙන PC ඒකේ ඔක්කොකොම File Store කරලා, අනිත් තියෙන Windows PC හරහා log වෙලා ඕන Files ටික ගන්න පුලුවන් Network එකක් හදා ගන්න. විශේසිතම දේ තමයි 90GB විතර Folders සමහර වෙලාවට Share කරන්න, Store කරන්න සිද්ධ වෙනවා. මේ නිසා Speed File Transfer කරන්න පුලුවන් විදියක් හා, මේ ටික කරන්න මට Advice දෙන්න පුලුවන් කෙනෙක් ඉන්නනවා නම් MSG දාන්න.

Briefly, you need to configure the Samba service on your Linux box. This will allow file sharing with the other Windows machines.
If you need the windows machines to authenticate against the Linux server then you need to do more. You need to configure Samba services to make the Linux box as your Primary Domain Controller (PDC).

Alternatively you can go for a customised solution.. Quite easy to setup..

The hitch is that you need a dedicated machine to run Freenas.

Or else you can install a dedicated NAS box (with multiple drives for redundancy)

I would recommend to go with at least a 1 Gbps+ switch for the network. 10 Gbps would be better.
Having a file server running ZFS or something like that to back that speed would be pretty nice as well. Maybe you can try a ready made NAS from Synology or something.
It's always a good idea to have backups.

Freenas uses ZFS....That's why I suggested it as the option.

I have two 2x 2TB HDDs with RAID 1 and each night recursively backup the data to another 3TB external HDD.

Os එක මොකක්ද දාන්න ඕන. ඒ pc එක වෙන වැඩ වලට පාවිච්චි කරන්නේ නෑ.

Im idea is build pc by my self. Bcoz nas are expensive.

I thought you already had a PC running a Linux distro. If you plan to build a PC then might as well consider a NAS drive.
There are many popular ones eg WD, Seagate, QNAP, Buffalo and Synology.

At least go for a 2 -Bay drive, so that you can mirror the data for redundancy. Also make sure that it has Gigabit ethernet, some of them have two LAN ports.
Some even have 2 x 1GbE LAN and 2 x 10GbE LAN. Also some NAS drives have a superior built-in CPU, so that these perform faster.
Everything depends on your budget. But you need to run Gigabit Ethernet as your file sizes are big.
