If NPP loses they will become the opposition.
Because that means SJB has won. UNP will lose all their pohottuwos & half of the remaining people to Sajith. Most will not even be elected. Specialy the Pohottuwa horu. Not sure in the general election, people like Ravi, Sagala & Ruwan will even be elected. Ranil will stand alone like before
NPP, even if they lost the presidential election, will lose by a small margin. Even if they take 60% of the presidential votes to the general election losing 40% of votes, they will still get enough seats to be the main opposition & AKD will become the opposition leader.
They will be on hell of an opposition. And after Sajith fucks up Royaly, NPP will be the main front runner for the 2029 election. Ranil will again be called up to save the nation as usual. Namal will be there again, but with a bigger vote base
And since NPP is coming with a much bigger vote base than 3% from the 2024 general election, and they have improved their vote base doing a good job as the opposition, they will win the 2029 election without any trouble for simply having no other party to vote for.
In short, of NPP loses this election, they simply have to wait for the 2029 election to win. We know Sajith will be Gota 2.0 if that idiot wins
