As per new regulations, NRFC/RFC/RNNFC/NRNNFC accounts are now categorized as Personal Foreign Currency Accounts (PFCA). Generally you can open a PFCA account if you can prove that you get foreign currency income. By the way, if you get money here, why cant you provide a proof?

So it will be PFCA. I guess all local banks are similar in service (okkogema inne kalu katha anatha sinhalu thama; just kidding) so better to have one in a branch where you have some contact if any (its sad to say). If not go to head office or bigger branch because most guys in small branches know nothing much about foreign currency and will ask hundred and one questions

PFCA FD. Yes you can. Interest rates are generally lower than LKR rates.

Tax depends on source of income. Generally, if it is a service, then it would be tax free.
