Ya this generation of ATI has been quite impressive. 300$ more for just 10 FPS???

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-4870,1964-19.html

And out of topic, according to TH the 9800GTX is faster than the 4850 but as i recall some sites stated that the 4850 is faster @ higher resolutions with AA. My question what is the better buy? 9800GTX is also reasonably cheap.

i have a big problem choosing 9800gtx and radeon 4870.

Is that what you are looking in a VGA? If you want superior picture quality then go for Quadro, Geforce is there to pump FPS. Besides there is no "huge" difference in picture quality the two or none at all. Just that the 4850 is faster than the 9800GTX in some cases when AA is on and you are playing on a 24" monitor.

Anyways ATI is the better buy as it is priced @ ~200$ where the green one is priced @ ~230$. But i don't think twice when buying a Nvidia but ATI i have to as it is now AMDs crap:P

Well Radeon is best for picture quality and video play back coz of their UVD(unifined video decoder) system.

then WTF is PureVideo:rofl:
well.UVD system is much better.Radeon video card got more stream possessors which is better for video play back, they have a (UVD) just for hd videos.5.1 channel sound on the video card

Of course there is big advantage with more stream possessors when it comes to video play back.Nvdia cards doesn't have as much as stream possessors as Radeon cards but their shader is clocked separately which is better for gaming that's why nvidia card perform better when it comes to gaming.but radeon card are better overclocking because of more stream possessors

yeah full 1080p and 7.1 channel audio from one cable

    monavada udeta kave?
    its called UVD(Unified Video Decoder)
Nvidia doesnt have much Sp bcoz they have a bit different architecture

nVidia's SPs and ATI's SPs are not comparable.
nVidia's SPs are much more capable than ATI's. That's why ATI need a lot of SPs to compete with nVidia's. Remember, the shader clock has the least impact on the performance in a game. Core Clock is first, then Memory Clock.

Why GTX280 sucks is because the chip itself is VEEERRRYYYY expensive to make and consumes shit load of power. It's huge!!!!

SPs have NOTHING to do with UVD or PureVideo. They are, as their name suggests, for processing SHADERS!

but NVIDIA has "PURE VIDEO HD" technology to enhance video playback quality.

then only reason nvidia has less stream possessors because they clock the shader separately
and because they have to clock the shader separately they might have different architecture

mata mathaka na monda udeta kave kiyala

why do you stop posting dude in this thread.if you want i'll stop replying for your posts
