maybe because of buddhism or maybe its my lack of knowledge, i don't feel good about war.

Nobody feels good about war but everybody should feel good about stopping a war that claimed thousands of lives throughout 3 decades.

i feel wars should be avoided and try other methods as much as possible to solve them by other means.

you are of the premise that ltte was defeated and war was ended. but can we fully end people's feelings without kindness and understanding. when a tamil terrorist was killed how about his/her family. as long as they don't have an understanding, they will feel for their family member and can develop an hatred towards his/her killing. so can we suppress their feeling. can we kill everyone? how do we know what they think. how do control someone's feelings? can any intelligent service understand what people think?

Here's a fact - what do terrorists do? they terrorize.

Why do they terrorize? because they don't want to reason with you. They want you to do what they want out of fear.

So, you simply can't reason with terrorists. We can't choose to be terrorized and do as the terrorists please just because their family members will be distraught if we don't do so. If those family members choose to resolve to terrorism as a result that can't be helped. They will have to be dealt with the same hand.

I know this might make you feel upset but facts don't care about your feelings.

i hope all political parties get together now and come with a national policy leaving out their own agendas for a moment for the sake of the country and its people.

I'm not saying the prev govt were saints.
But with all the bullshit the unp had done till the election(at least during my time of understanding) was more than enough to realise they aren't even closely capable of governing a country

People didn't give majority to UNP, they only got 106 seats and UPFA got 95. The ministers from the last government formed current government to enjoy their personnel benefits. Then technically almost everybody has contributed to form current government.
