It has been reported that Ceylon Electricity Board has sought permission from the Ministry of Power and Energy to cut electricity daily for two hours due to the decreasing water levels in reservoirs connected with power stations.
Unless the areas around reservoirs receive rain during the next two weeks there would be electricity cuts state engineers and reveal that already unofficial cuts are being carried out at random.
