I think you better ask that question from a qualified professional.

Ask from a general physician or even the pharmacist will know. If not, buy the medicine and read the instruction sheet provided.

I know Postinor2 has a good instruction leaflet inside the pack. Hopefully that mithuri thing will have too I guess.

because your girl cant take the pills without knowing if she's got allergies to it or some other side effect. She needs to consult a doctor to clear those out and to know when to start taking it. It doesnt get effective over night.

I guess she's a little bit too young machan.....
    And you too :frown:

Sadly you might need to wait until at least she is 18+ before having unprotected sex with her...

    edit:
    Damn... you said 17ya?
My little sister is also 17. And if I got to know that she's going to have with a guy at that age...
She's a little girl still! Enjoy love. Have sex later.

    Any scientific basis for that?

AFAIK, IUDs (copper) reacts with sperm cell wall and the eggs cell wall which prevents them from generating an embryo...

So why it's not recommended to be used by nulliparous?

    there are several BRO!
Main thing is it is difficult in inserting it to nulliparous & if u try it in nulliparous, u may cause more damage than good!
Obvious other reason is that as it causes local inflammation & if this girl is marginally fertile person then it may disturbed future investigations etc! a non significant fact!
Other thing is its a policy in Sri Lankan health sector

BTW after intercourse within 72 hr IUCD can be used and may prevent a child birth!

She cant just pop the pills and assume everything is fine.
OCPs needs to be taken long before having sex for them to be effective and they needs to be taken on a daily basis for a long time.
Besides, at 17 she's too young.
Also she needs to be cleared medically that she can take the pills without any adverse effects. She has to see a doctor about it first.

i think you didnt get my point!!
i wanted to stress that IUCD can not be used for females who havent given birth to at least one child!!!
    This is the thing sis.....
the problem is wit the hymen...
the copper device should place inside the uterus..
so somebody wants to place that he has to pass the hymen.. so no other method to place the copper device..
so it has to break and place...
thats why said if women wants to put it in to the uterus she should at least have one child other wise they dont...
but after the intercourse the hymen isnt there so no need to worry put the copper device..
I think u got my point sis...

    The muthuri is for women...
it comes with hormonal tabs and the placebo...
girls can take any time. there is no need to wait for the mensuration...
the card has all the instructions u should follow.

But these are normaly use by the elderly women...
otherwise the menstrual irregularities can happen..
Do not take while taking antibiotic or after a surgery,....

The starting OCP for a 17 years old girl is a ridiculous thing...
    because many probs can occour..
so pls dont start OCP for that girl...
sure it will effect the menstrual system.
