  • If you want to learn a new technology what you suggested could be the best method. For an example if its Grand Central Dispatch you want to learn, there are docs you can refer and learn. But if its for-loops or while-loops you want to learn, don't expect them to be there in those docs (they could be, but don't expect).

References are good for learning new technologies. But you need to have killer basics. Even in the industry there are so many people who would like to hire you and teach you the technologies being used at their places. But no one would like to teach u basics.

Basics consists of couts, printf commands to for-loops, if conditions and it even then goes beyond that and covers design patterns, data structures, algorithms and things like that. Even a bit if Assembly will polish up your skills. It is extremely difficult to do all these by yourself. Specially when there are projects, researches and things like that are in universities.

Thats why i suggest to go to a proper place. Passion is not enough. I have seen a lot of people trying. But hardly they get to where they want to go.

Machan,, I expressed ma opinion like that,, cz something I hear regularly from lectures is to read references(Something I do so less :P). Ya,, I agree that basic has to be learned. Still there are things like Youtube tutorials & such things if we want to learn them. But the thing is no one having such potential. And um with your point that u should go to a proper place to learn, cz a degree plays main part of someones's career and that can be gained by such place(But still degree is worthless if the holder doesn't have any talent to do things).

& Thx for that thing u told about knowing Assembly. Really is it necessary to know those things or it's just a plus point ?
I was always interested about assembly but could pay any attention for that due to the work load & less time:sorry:

I agree with what you say. If one has the ability to manage, find and master all those things then it will be fine. But when you go to a proper place, you will be directed in the right direction, guided and forced or driven sometimes to work and learn. Which is what helped me.

First of all, Assembly is interesting. As you learn Assembly even things from high level languages will start makes more sense. A person with low level language skills always knows whats going in the back. If things get bad, you always can take your tools, go deep, fix it and come back. Get pep8 and learn. You will love it.
