The Silawathura Police arrested three schoolboys who were involved in the gang rape of a 15-year-old schoolgirl in the Silawathura area in Mannar on Wednesday.
The girl, who is a student of the Silawathura Roman Catholic Tamil Navodhya College, was allegedly raped by the three students of the same school in February, this year. Investigations revealed that the incident took place within the school premises.
The three suspects, who were presented before the Mannar Magistrate Court today, were ordered to be further remanded. The Silawathura Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
