Probably you are correct. But if you go to Sapa (Vietnam), there's a bridge bordering China. On the Vietnamese side there are guys selling unbranded RC toys & Drones starting from 15$. Unbelievable prices. These are smuggled across the border.

PS: I bought a small helicopter more than 15 years ago from a Bangkok store. My son wasn't 5 years and that's why I remember. It had two super caps that recharged in about 10 -15 mins and it could fly for a decent time. It could reach about the height of one & a half tall coconut trees. Probably higher but it loses the remote control range. He used it for about 3 years or more. These were the first generation of RC helicopters.
