Beggar type --> Single room 1000SGD, food 1000SGD keep another 500-1000SGD for travelling and shit.
Normally Ok type --> single room apartment 2500SGD, food 1500-2000SGD. keep antoher 1000SGD+ for travelling and other shit.
If you are single & going to live alone you can save about 5000 SGD
If you have a wife but no children, you should be able to save about 3000 SGD (expecting you are going to live in a separate house at least with 1 bedroom)
If you have a kid or two & one of them is going to school, expenses will be really high & might be able to save around 1000 SGD

If you go for a contract period job, after the contract ends you can stay one more month to find a job if the contract doesn't extend.
If you go for a permanent job, no issues. as long as you have the job you will have the work visa. I haven't heard situations like firing people immediately because of low performance. But I have seen companies laying off employees.
Tax is extremely low & maximum it will be 5% of your salary, have to pay annually
