I don't think Singapore became a developed nation solely because they speak English. There are many other factors. If we take Philippines their education system is English based and more similar to American system. Same goes with Africa. Many African countries do not have their own alphabet so they use English alphabet. Both Philippines and Africans speak good English. Way better than most of us. Specially Africans.

Even every Sri Lankan speak good English, still Sri Lanka won't be the next Singapore.
Simply our kalu katha DNA won't allow us to become a one. There isn't a single developed nation in this world with black color skin people.

I don't think lack of English knowledge is the root cause that hinder development of our county.

1) Danish is official language while government services are provided in multiple languages.
2) Majority of university courses are taught in English (Unlike what you suggest).
3) Making native language the ceremonial official language and using it in university education is two different things.
