SLT Peo TV users ?

Hi

i got my peotv set abt 2 months back, few days ago the remote stopped working, i changed the batteries but still not working. status light doesnt blink as i press any key on remote, so it seems it doesnt get any signal from remote.

But i can watch peotv using STB's buttons on it, so STB is workin.
But it is very hard and cannot change into channels other than first few ones.


Anyway did any of u had similar probs??

Have to take it back to slt and see.

Yes i had the same prob...take it back to the PeoTV HQ and they will give you a new remote....my one broke 3 days after the installation. remember to take u'r bill they gave to you when going to the peotv HQ. i think you can also get a new one from a SLT teleshop...but i took my one from the peotv HQ in duplication road.

thx for info, the remote seems to be not very good even when its functioning, i mean its slow to react and stuff.

Hi Guys

Please note that SLT PEO TV will not be available for some cities bit a far away form Colombo. i lived in aturugiriya and they cannot provide IP TV because the Line condition, Distance and Exchange compatibilities are poor. It is bit a desperate to me. As far as I know the IPTV quality is very good comparing to dialog TV and existing ADSL customers can get PEO TV with FOC. FOC always F up

I called them today at abt 12.30pm, did a complain about the situ. Then asked for my ADSL username, name registered for this services. Then said they'll call me after processing the complain. call came from colombo at abt 2pm, saying they got the complain will inform it to my regional office, Kurunegala.

Then got a call at abt 3.20pm from a guy of kurunegala, asked direction to my home, it was easy as he was a one who came to fit the equipment as well. he remembered the place. At about 3.45pm he came and try using my old remote, after few presses he said its defective and gave a new remote.

remote is bit different from the original but same functionality, so no prob.

That was GREAT after sales service, within 4hours informing i got it replaced at my doorstep with just few calls !

I'm totally agree with you about their Service it is very good. how ever some services they cannot gives us. because of infrastructure issue. need to be patiend your a long time to get to upgaded. remember ADSL it was enabled only for Colombo areas and after 2 yerrs time they upgrated.

hey do u know peo tv can be watched by a pc? (Using the UDP multicast stream), I had a bit luck with VLC however video and audio seems to be distorted! Can any plz tri it? Open the URL udp://226.11.3.x:6000
x is the channel. If u watch rupavahini replace it by 1. Before doing this u must tune into the specific channel in STB and plug the LAN from PC to the iptv binded port of the router. PLz try and reply!

thx machan, the thing is we have to highlight the good services the providers give us as well as highlighting their mistakes/bad as we usually do.

Also that will force other providers to give a good service to their users.

yeah machan i too was looking for a way, i even tried VLC but cudnt find the udp configs.

THx will try and let kno. But not now, cos others r watchin iptv, i cant unplug it

Anyway there might be a scrambling method ne? (that can cos da distortion ne) if so we might hav to find a unscrambler software, which might be hard

we got the free offer where we get the router, STB and connection free..commitment only for 2 years, and if you disconnect within that 2 years you have to return the equipment..

does the internet speed actually increase a bit after you get peo?

also...a guy came to our house to get the form filled, and he said that the technical guys will come within about 15 days to fix the system..do they take less?about how many days did they take to come to you guys?
