    අවුරුදු 7ක් experience තියෙන SE කෙනෙක්ට job interview එකකදී salary expectation එක කීයක් වගේද ඉල්ලන්න ඕනේ සාමාන්‍යයෙන්? මම ඉල්ලන්න ඉන්නේ ලක්ෂ 2ක්. මේ ගාන මදිද?

    Anyway I have to tell them my salary expectation. So I'm just trying to find the standard salary. So I think 200K is ok?

    Machan if you want 200k as take home, dont tell that upfront. Add some margin to bargain. For a developer with 7 years experience if you confident about the tech stack dont go cheep. So my idea is if you confident about the tech stack ask something like (230,000/- as TAKE HOME SALARY) and let them bargain to (200,000)

    otherwise if you told 200k now, what will happen is at the HR interview they will bargain it down. and let say they offer you 180K, and your take home salary will be what left after deducting payee tax, EPF contribution, stamp duty and some other contributions depending on the company (some companies have sport clubs and they deduct monthly contribution from employee salary)

    How did you spend your 7 years machan ? Ideally you should reach far more than that, at least Tech Lead.

    In Sri lLanka, Both the position & the remuneration matters a lot for career.

    NEVER EVER DO THIS.
    a company can easily find your previous sal tru the epf acc. if you ever get caught cheating at the interview, you can be fired overnight.

    IT companies nam owa passe pannanne ne. garment type ewagenam owa karanawa panna panna. IT ewata one wede wenanawanam, owa care karanne ne.

    They do; HR does. Normally good companies are very serious about trustworthiness.

    No one can verify your previous salary from EPF number. What do you think one's salary is public information?. There is a law man. One company cant access other company's EPF accounts.


    but some companies ask for salary slips. then you may get caught if cheated. however in any negotiation you should account the salary (fixed amount in the slip) and other benefits such as Average bonus, transport, food etc.
    Then only you will see the real package you get right now.

    and then add a premium on top of it, then add a negotiable amount thereafter. then tell that to your interviewer..


    Example

    If
    current basic: 150,000
    average bonus: 30,000
    Value of free tranport: 10,000
    food: 5000
    Current package value: 195,000

    Add Premium: 50,000 (non negotiable)
    Add negotiable: 40,000

    Asking salary: 285,000

    minimum to accept: 245,000

    Lolz, yea. its supposed to be "private". but how "private" is that? what regulations out there on protecting the privacyness of that?
    have u ever seen the 6month summary sheet sent by CBSL? to the company..
    or if u link your epf acc to the previous one.. or if you ever want to claim money from the epf acc.. simly its out of your control.

    my point is not "how your salary is private". never cheat in an interview.. :rofl:
