I have been a buddhist like others for 34 years and started practicng after that. These two lives before and after are totally different.
Having Buddha's teaching with you and practicing are entirely different.
Dhamma dhara and Dhammavihari are different.
If we do not practice Buddha's Dhamma we can excel any other national who practice same because we have a Buddhist base. But if we do not practice Dhamma we are second to any who follow any other accepted religion.
Preserving a serum and drinking it makes the difference.
I know the difference by my own experience.
