Toyota dont produce oil they purchase from another producer and distribute under toyota trademark

    This is what chatgpt says

Yes, Toyota does produce motor oil, but it's typically branded as Toyota Genuine Motor Oil (TGMO). This oil is specifically formulated to meet the requirements of Toyota engines. It's often manufactured in partnership with major oil companies (like ExxonMobil or others, depending on the region), but it's tested and approved by Toyota to ensure optimal performance and protection for their vehicles.

You can usually find TGMO at Toyota dealerships or authorized service centers. It comes in various grades like 0W-20, 5W-30, etc., depending on the engine specifications of your Toyota model.

Let me know if you’re looking for the right oil for a specific Toyota vehicle—I can help with that too.

Toyota oil is rebranded Mobil oil.

If someone says one brand of oil will last longer than other brands, they are lying. All oils are refined to the same standard and everything depends on your car's engine condition. What's your car and the actual mileage?

Err, then what about mineral and synthetic?

What about API SN vs API SP?

What about ACEA A3 vs ACEA C3?

    What about 0W20 vs 5W30?
No no dude... what I meant was about brands.

You are right. about various standards and compositions. What I meant was 0w20 of Valvoline and Toyota should be refined to the same standard.

But Valvoline could be API SP - doesn't make it viable for 10K Kms arbitrarily though

Unrelated to the OCI question, most manufacturer branded oils (Toyota, Suzuki etc) doesn't carry anti-counterfeit markings and are being heavily counterfeited around the globe

Contrarily 3rd party manufacturers have anti-counterfeit markings and QR verifications to make sure the product is original

Well, not always. In high rpm / high lift cam applications, brands like Speedmaster may perform better due to Zinc additives. Or brands like Red Line may perform better on over-spec turbo builds due to Esters, etc. Rule of thumb is to use Mobil Gold when you are unsure :D
