Two different vehicles.
My neighbor had the Prado 150 and I have a sport (2011/12). In the Prado, the ride was comfortable, lots of road presence and commands respect from the 3 wheelers and motor bikes (I suppose b’cos of the politician’s influence on the vehicle). Beautiful vehicle to have with the interior being nicer than the Montero’s. But not as nippy and bad on fuel plus needs a lot of space on the road from a maneuverable point. Maintenance wise a little on the expensive side but spares available.
M/sport is a robust ugly beast and the interior is shabby. But easier to drive than the Prado. Follows a very basic principal in terms of technology and maintenance wise, not very expensive. Spare parts available anywhere and everywhere. Unimo is an excellent agent for support purposes, appointments are easy to get. On the highway I’ve got 18 kmpl on the display, but do not know about the accuracy of it (photograph available). I once saw a modified one in Yala, and it looked really good with the tires out. On a dirt road, I’ll always chose the Montero sport and no complaints about the usage of it on normal roads either.
However, it is your choice. Buy the vehicle that you like to drive, cos it is for your pleasure and not other’s.
