Hello,

I have a computer bought in the U.S. I have downloaded unicode Sri Lankan fonts and IME for Sinhala. However, I have trouble reading documents that have been sent to me from Sri Lanka. It always turns out something like:

Thdg fmïjf;la bkakjo @'
^kS fhda kka mx fhda ud @&

...rather than proper Sinhala. Can anyone tell me why this is happening, and how i can open documents with proper Sinhala fonts (particularly MS Word files)? Thank you for any help you can provide.

This has nothing to do with your PC bought in US.. Because many of us (Sri Lankans) use US English & US Keyboard format.. Ask the person who sent u those documents what font they used to type them.. Because they might have use some other old font..

Dude I was right ... They used different font. I manged to copy your text and found a match. Try install this font and select it in your word document

After highlighting and changing the font to Mi_Harsha:
