I like KDE. I've tried all the major desktops as well as a few uncommon ones but KDE is the best for me.
Its the most competent and the easiest to use for me.

what about xfce thing? it's not popular like gnome and KDE right?

it is quite popular. for a light weight DE, its a complete DE.
Its best for low graphics hardware and older PCs. Even servers if there is a requirement for a DE in the server.

I heard that firefox on wine (on linux) runs faster than firefox on linux! (of course the windows one runs fastest)
Seems like thay don't care (mozilla) about firefox linux version. They are on war with IE8 (100% kicking it off from windows)

I also like kde it feels solid and better intergrated with k applications than gnome.

Hey I was like you till a few months ago.
You really should try KDE.
The newest version (4.2) rocks.

Actually customizing is far easier on KDE than Gnome.

Yea ie sucks big time.
I heard that claim about ff for windows is faster than linux but I am really not sure about it.
Did you try Minefield(ff 3.6) and Opera 10beta?
They are both very fast and if you havent already I strongly suggest you try them out.

Well I am sure once i get used to kde it will be easier.(I love the feature where they let us download themes and all easily right from the menu)
There are many many options(which is a good thing in the long run)

And i still couldn't find a way to change the colour of the kickoff menu
Can you give me any help on that please?

I used it on mint linux6 and with compiz effect on ....... It works smoothly with enough graphics for me

Im using amavids-new + postfix + clamav. when i'm testing amavis with "sample-42-mail-bomb.txt", amavis says "PASSED UNCHECKED"

But all other test are success except Mail bomb test. Can someone tell me a solution??

sudo apt-get install kde-standard

The people who said this also says that opera runs virtually same speed on both OS. And whatever the firefox version is (let it be fastest 3.5), windows version runs much faster, and does it on wine.

Linux doesn't need any antivirus. But anyway, if you really like search google for AVG, avira has linux (free) versions. Clam is a FOSS anti virus.
Real problem is in debian (ubuntu,mint) systems which sudo has all permissions by default. Much simpler to get hacked than other linux versions.

I'm using KDE (Kubuntu).
Do u think it safe to surf without Firewall???
