Fedora contains all packages released under FOSS terms. This include the RHEL kernel. What it doesnt have are the proprietary software that is meant only for RHEL.

    3. hw 2 make a shortcut in e desktop 2 a folder in ubuntu? i tried makin a link... it worked 4 dat session but wen i restarts e machine it says dat link is mising... Y is dat? my destnation folder is in a seperate partition... cld dat b a reason?
if the partition is not mounted, when you click on the link, it will throw errors.
Best way for shorcuts is to use symbolic links.

    ln -s /path/to/destination /path/to/shortcut

I don't have deep experience in Fedora. But there is a 100% FREE Binary compatiable RHEL clone with full package list. That is CentOS. CentOS also running on RPM and YUM base.

I'm using CentOS 5.2 for my email/web/proxy/samba servers, It's working fine as a server based OS.

    Was thinking about that

If I right a Linux blog in Sinhala, it will look like shit. ex: firefox (ගිනිහිවලා) thunderbird (මේඝපක්ශි) seamonkey (මුහුදු වදුරා) multiget බහුගැනීම and most confusing of all ubuntu (උබුන්ටු):rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::eek::eek::eek::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm thinking about starting all-sinhalease one from my non-tech blog http://malshanpeiris.wordpress.com/ which is sensible to write in sinhala.

Hey heavy linux users!!! plz advice us

:yes:Hey gys we have decided to demonstrate the use of linux in day to day life, in our exhibition at University of Kelaniya. We hope to demonstrate the method to install , use , surf, plyng media with codecs and how to configure modems. But the main prob is to find the suitable distribution for that. We have two selected Fedora and Ubuntu. We hope to do edit and make a new distro in future (not in dis year)
what do you think? whats better? ny other suggesstions ? Please be kind enough to send me a private message >>>>>> thanks>>>>>>:D
