What is Type means? All other have CAV for it but I have P-CAV for it,What is the difference?
CAV = Constant Angular Velocity
P-CAV = Partial Contant Angular Velocity..
CLV is also there, which means Constant linear velocity.

There are few others too. That is only the burning mechanism. CAV means, the write profile is also like the read profile as seen on my read curve. P-CAV means, it will burn at CAV at few stages like steps. Nothing serious. It is just what the manufacturer perfers I think :D

Burst speed doesn't mean much, if at all anything. It is the "smooth" read curve that matters the most. It means that the drive doesn't have to slow down to retry reading a sector which it can't read at the line profile speed.

But why can't we test a burn? We can always put the Nero burn times when we burn a DVD next time. But I think all my DVDRs are 8x :S (of course I can overspeed, but I don't wanna waste Rs.60 if something goes wrong :D)

i can burn on 16x...
its take about 7mints to complete....
thing is when i put the dvd-r..
the nero drive speed tells that..
its max read speed is 8x..
and ideas...?

Where does it say that? :S

(That CPU test thing doesn't mean anything in that regard, if that is what you are mentioning)

Those access times are wrong :S
They can't be than low :D (come on, how can it be faster than a hard disk and hard disks have about 13ms access times generally)

Anyway, seems like there is some jitter in the read curve. But it is way better than Samiram's DVD-R benchmark.

Can't really say anything about the end speed, because you tested a disc with more data. Mine could have reached that speed too, if the disc i tested was full.

Yep,Access time is wrong,It's without opening tray and when the disc on the drive already,

Yeah,My HDD access time is about 13.8ms
