He is talking about older models. They were very very bad. But the newer 20x and 22x DVD Writers are VERY good.

I think one of the worst drives are AOpen DVD writers. I have one and it sux. Even with best media I could found, failure rate is 1:1. I have recently wrote around 50 DVD's using that crappy drive. I used Verbatim DVD's and used 8X speed to write them. But unfortunately around 25 of them end up as bad dvd's. I do not know what is the problem with the drive.

That's PATA right? The SH-S203 is the best DVD Burner EVER!!!! It's the same as 202, but SATA.

I've seen a 0 C2/PIF error scan on that. That's only the 2nd time I've seen one. Previously I've seen one on Benq DW-1640 iirc. (The one I replaced with the Samsung )
