No hard drive brand has failed upon me. So I personally go with the best performance drives.

Fastest drives are Western Digital Raptor 10k RPM drives and Samsung Spinpoint F1 drives.

So my choice is Raptor for system drive (windows/software/games) and Spinpoint F1 for data and other work.

General conception is that Seagate drives are more reliable. But the truth is, it depends on usage (i.e. hard drives are not meant to be MOVED!) and luck.

I never take out my hard disks out of the case, so maybe this is why I have never had a bad disk.

I have a Maxtor and Samsung in my PC and a Seagate in dad's. I have had two more Samsungs which I sold an year ago. I haven't had Western Digital or Hitachi drives though.

i only got quantum fireball 15GB ancient hard disk.. 15 kiwwata eaketh tiyenne 13.9GB.. he hee.. habay OS eka vista..

Well i have Quantum Fireball 20GB, Maxtor 40GB, Hitachi 250GB. none of them gave me any troubles ..............
