sometimes i feel that are there any owners for the songs!!
because some songs(specially classical) are remixed and destroyed.
if there a real owner he wont allow people to do it..
    any comments??
Remixing can be done if the person has enough knowledge on it.

    Now this an example.

    Song: Sanda Ahase
    Lyrics: Sunil Sarath de Silva
Music and Voice: Prof. Dayarathne Ranatunga

    Original song

Here is the remix by Nalaka Anjana Kumara.
I'll put the remix track in a moment.

Listen and feel what is real remix from Yaman raaga to Pop.

agree..but where is our youth..if they are doing hiphop or reggae or something they have to do it correctly and they should have a finish to there work..doing songs for fame and money is not going to develop our music culture
The cupboard is well and truely empty. Except Kasun Kalhara, Krishantha Erandaka, Janaka Wickramasinghe and Deepika Priyadarshani no relatively young vocalists to talk about. the barren period came in early 80s where no new super stars were born. Now we are seeng the consequences.

Its all depends on the track

if the Singer goes to a composer and made the track and paid that person composer cant influence anything and singer owns it. but composer can tell or suggest anything. and same as that to lyrics writers too. if singer paying them. they just doing a job. they cant get the rights. but for some extent they can say it done by them. and singer should mention their names.

    oya tiyena answer eka

Macho thats two different Things.. Djs can take any song to remix with the Proper Permission ( Proper Permission means the permission from Record Label then Artists and then the Composer).

but when it comes to Copying in Exams thats not good ne macho
It may look right for you because you are seeing it in a more commercialised perspective. Your jab may be the reason for it. But as a poet my self, I look at it a rather different viewpoint, more moral than money.

I Love if our Laws get more standard and give better place for the Artist. coz normally Record Label pay like 3 to 4 laks for the Artist for the whole album. but think for one song if they paying more tahn 70 thousand. how the artist survive

Changing copying r 2 different thngs!! K tel me diz, whn u copy paste some thng in MS Word won't it have the same font size, color n everythng???
But here wht I'm tlkng abt z changing thngs arnd! As i said earlier in this thread IN AI season 7, the contestant David Cook made 2 smash hitz out of 2 smash clssical hitz!!!! N he was appriciated by the original aritist itself!!!
Tht z wht I'm tlkng abt:yes:
That what I am saying, unless you can do it correctly, don't do it. Remixing is not for the novives, it is for the experts in vocals and music.

well bro sseing through different glasses may certainly wud give different perspectives!
But hey, as it said earlier seeing the economical side z nt a sin also dn't confine ur self 2 one frame!!
