    Staring at my laptop
So., bought a laptop with Windows 10

Task bar is not working (start menu button)

Tried EVERYTHING in the web from running updates, creating new user profiles, reinstalling apps, setting the data bases, verifying etc etc.. NOTHING WORKS except for reinstalling windows again..... and it stops working after one reboot.

However... as a last resort i installed a classic shell and now the start menu is working.

but the rest of the button in the task bar is not. (see picture)

Any suggestion on how I can get them to work or if there's any 3rd party software like the "classic shell"that I can get it done from?

Machan, download the latest Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft (build 1511 or above), format the machine and make a fresh installation.

I'm assuming even though it came with Win 10, it was probably upgraded from Win 8.1 which is why the taskbar issue is coming up.

Since it's already running Win 10, you won't have an issue making a fresh installation cuz it automatically picks and activates itself since it was already upgraded (Digital Entitlement Right).

This is the only permanent fix.

ok.. that sounds like a plan... can you guide me through it.

where can I find and download the build? ... a link would be appreciated.

also, before running that, what's the way I can see if it's not already installed? .... how can I check the build or version number of the already installed windows?

Machan, use the below tool and download the latest ISO.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Once it's downloaded, burn it to a DVD. Make sure you backup your files, restart and boot from the DVD and make the fresh installation. Make sure you format your C: drive and reinstall Windows 10 newly.

Hope you have your Windows product key with you or the sticker on the back of your lap just in case if you require it when activating.
