oh great. now its going from religion to racism. Was this the aim all along ?Indeed it is pointless. What I have said in this topic is not false... these things are their and no one can say it is not. Buddhist community is NOT against the Catholic Church! Buddhist leaders who are a few extremists are trying to make an issue using the advantage of minority! Which the same thing the Sinhalise did to Tamils.![]()

Maybe you made up the whole bike story to get to this point? Not very nice!I made a LED blue cross by myself and installed it on the face of my moped motorbike. I've been riding with it on for the last several months without issue. But today a certain unit of Police officers stopped me and fined me for having a "Extra lamp" and told me to remove the cross from my bike. The cross has been epoxy glued (Welded) to my bike face.
Mama Nil LED walin Kurusayak haduwa, Mama eka mage bike ekke mune weld karala wage yakada alawana gum walin fit kara. Mama dan bike ekka masa ganak kisi police case ekkak nathuwa padda. Eth today mawa police unit ekken nawathhala "Athereka pahan dal wi ma" kiyala dadayak gahuwa. Mata police ekka kiyanawa Kuruse galawala danna lu.
Mokak da me jara wade... Mama one tharam wahana dakala thiyenawa "Budu saranai kiyala wind screen eke LED walin hadala thiyenawa. Thuk mehema jara ratak, Katholika apita thama okkoma gas dan.
This is dirty work and attacking for Catholic's... i have seen many cars, vans, lorries displaying LED "Budda" things.... Why not cross? Its is because this is a Buddhist country?? I will never remove my cross. As a Catholic, it symbolizes our life, and Jesus Christ. They and fry my Driving License in a frying pan, But I have the right to express my religion as any other person.![]()

23 years we fought because of Nationality.... are we going to spend the next 23 fighting for religion?
EDIT:
1. LED brightness does not travel a long distance, its really impossible to say that my cross caused the persons vision to be upset.... Now if I placed another Halogen blub, then yes. I will be wrong.
2. The law was put in place to stop bright lights from blinding on coming vehicles. And to avoid three wheelers from looking like pickup trucks etc.
3. If you'll have seen Mate bikes with the bracket in-front... remember they have TWO head lights out of their manufacturer spec. And that would be a even worse offense!
4. I ride my bike over 2000KM/s a month around Colombo and out of Colombo, I have had run into various police officers and NONE ever said anything about a extra lamp, LED can barely be visible if a put the Head beam... I ride normally on the dip. To be a lamp it must illuminate the road... my cross is not a bright light to do that.
5. A Buddhist Police officer can make a exception to a law if it was a LED "Darma Chakraya" considering its their religion symbol. It would be the same if the Police officer was Catholic. Really, the law is there to stop Accidents, Police can depict the law the way they want it.
I am not a idiot, I know if my LED lights are a distraction. If they are flashing/changing color... yes. But they are not. Also from the officers tone he spoke he was not enforcing the law... he was enforcing his attack and hate on the Cross... there are a lot of Buddhist who now say "Kuruse Adahana Wesige Putha"... I do social work so I'm in preview of some peoples extremism on "This is a Buddhist only country". I am afraid that when these people see a cross they really do get distracted... nothing to be done about that.

Read the law books please. Kthx.Where were you when the city council removed the temple structure that was at borella junction ?
And no, road side and the road are NOT equal even though both are public places,
I went the PWC, we were never thought our religion in the school. When our parents complained you know what the monk said? "Ubalata mona agamada, ubalage agame mathpan ne bonne, eka jara agamak"Ask from the school about why there's no statue of jesus in it. While there are such categories, All semi govt schools in this country are required by law to teach and practice buddhism. They way you avoided that part shows that the school in question is a semi govt. school and you're just showing your bigotry against buddhists.
And so? These were instead before the law was enforced.... read the law book please kthx... and I ask you.... do you know reason why the law was created recently?Nothing happens. Go to other predominately christian areas in the country and see. There are statues of various saints erected at road sides, juctions, and in front of temples (across the road) and they are staying there just fine.
Bigot? Ok ok, I'm a bigot.... what does that make you?suggest you look at a mirror first.
I know enough about the lad and society to spot an extremist bigot (thats you if you didnt figure it out by now) when I see one.
REALLY? This is the mind people had when the Tamils got beaten....No such thin has happened as yet. You still staying in moratuwa and making this unnecessary noise proves that.
Guts are thing that are controlled by humanity... if a man acts like a animal like you... we humans are worse than animals.so you're angry that a cop had guts ?
well woo pi doo.
Mr. kosandpol, I don't know if you from a good family or not there are eticates and humanity when dealing with subjects. A person putting a lit cross on a bike is not wrong nor a bad thing. Now if this was a lit sexy lady we might have a problemI'm not the one angry or whining. You are. Its proven by yout tone throughout this thread.
Oh this is rich. You cant see beyond the religious aspect of the matter and yet you are calling me narrow minded.
You have, in so many words, accepted that you have broken a law but you're finding fault with the police for buddhists for it. The police is an instrument to enforce the law, by which they are required to be not partial to religious matters.
Still you have avoided my question yet again : do you accept that if you had your cross on the side of the bike, you wouldnt have got pulled over by cops in the first place ?

Society is more complex than you think. People don't behave like animals, but they can if they want to.post a pic of your bike will ya.. of course taken @ night with all ur lights & LED's on
I don't want my bike to look like a effin Pandol
Sure I will... tonight. But I don't have any other LED's just the crossI don't want my bike to look like a effin Pandol
