    okay just tell me at least 15 words which included letter Z

    I don't know I can give you 15, but I can say some loan words which have sa in place of za.

    Z = ised
    bulldozer = buldosar eka
    zebra = seebraawa
    New Zealand = Nawa Seelanthaya

    Also some non Sinhala names/place names which have Z but written with sa when transliterated in Sinhala script.

    Zahira - Sahira
    Zachary - Saaekaree
    Hazel - Hesal
    Miyazaki - Miyasaaki
    Benazir - Benasir

    Zimbabwe - Simbaabwe
    Zurich - Surik
    Tanzania - Taaensaniya

    Zulu - Sulu

    Shenu,

    As much I feel a letter with a Z sound should be added in the Sinhala alphabet and put in use, I will try to see it from your point of view.

    Okay.. If there is no need of a letter for Z in the Sinhala alphabet, then why do we need ෆ then?

    As of now we use ස for both S and Z. So if there is no need to have a sperate letter for Z in the Sinhala alphabet, why not scrap the letter ෆ and go back to using ප for both P and F?

    Also back in the day, up until the 1980s when Professor J. B. Dissanayaka introduced the letter ෆ, people who wanted to properly represent the F sound in Sinhala would use the imitation letter, fප for F.

    Something for you to think about.

    With a Sinhala letter for Z added, the words and names I listed above would become as follows.

    Z = ized
    bulldozer = buldozar eka
    zebra = zeebraawa
    New Zealand = Nawa Zeelanthaya
    Zahira - Zahira
    Zachary - Zaaekaree

    Hazel - Hezal
    Miyazaki - Miyazaaki
    Benazir - Benazir
    Zimbabwe - Zimbaabwe
    Zurich - Zurik
    Tanzania - Taaenzaniya
    Zulu - Zulu

    we need because we can't make that sound with our alphabet. and as you mentioned we can use for make that Z sound. that's why I'm keep telling you there is no necessity of Letter Z.

    P.S : sorry for taking a long time to reply

    If in my own personal writing, I want to write ස with a small z beside for Z, can I do so?

    It is nice to hear different oppinions, isn't it?

    I still feel that a letter for Z should be added to the Sinhala alphabet.

    Otherwise, if there is no need of a letter for the Z sound, then we really do not need letter ෆ either.

    But at the same time, I respect your views.

    Though I feel that saying we need one letter, namely, ෆ for F as we cannot make that sound with the Sinhala alphabet, but no need of a letter for Z is contradictory as really, neither of those sounds existed in Sinhala and cannot be written with the traditional Sinhala alphabet.
