Good for exports. China also devalue it's currency to boost exports. I also hope this will reduce imports as well.

China is smart, Sri Lanka is not so smart.
China is one of the biggest exporters in the world, they devalued there currency because the Loans US UK and other first world countries are dominated by US, so the more they have to pay get converted to the equilent.

Sri Lanka spends millions of imports and a fraction on exports, so how is it a good thing when we devalue our own currency which is 80% consisting of imports, and 20% of imports.

If the Rupee looses ground, it would be much of a worse scenario because from milk powder to oil to gas to most number of commodities which are imported to the country are dominated by the USD.
