    A/L's are just bullshit.
Don't fret so much. Don't live inside the bubble.
Do what you like & plan ahead & out of the world & the path that gives you through it.

Well I passed A/L's successfully and went to one of the best government unis in Sri Lanka.
And that's the truth. People who dream about passing A/L's & going to a uni doesn't have actual 'dreams'. Life is more than that.
It's just the world that has been created for you by the others who benefits from your hard work.

It is more worthy if some one can built their own business by themselves
but we can not judge every person should do the same
one thing in the world is for related person, not for the others
the people who want will grab the things that they want
we can not say something is bullshit, when there are enough examples who built their lives and others lives based on that field

what I mean is A/L is a labelling mechanism that has been forcefully put into the society so it may function like one.
And that failing or doing bad in such a thing doesn't actually make your life miserable as the society would make you so.
And even passing & doing good doesn't make it that much worthwhile as the society makes it so.
It's fine if you have the ultimate goal of reaching to higher ends in the specific fields. But other than that it's just a freakin shit show created so that the society would function as one.

So what I'd say is don't sacrifice everything for the sake of passing A/Ls successfully & going to the uni & then hoping everything will come to you just because that idea has been forced down on to you.
When people start realising this they are usually a too little too late.

Well Said machan  Even I had the best of views regarding ALs earlier and got the admission to the best University in Sri Lanka. But looking back, I feel that there were a number of people who failed in specific streams doing well than most of us. Recently I got to meet someone Who did BIT at SLIIT after the 1st attempt and then he did the MSc and was graduated recently. I am from the same birth year, But due to all these things now it is the time that I actually begin to do my MPhil after finishing my Bachelors(2).

I actually don't blame ALs , it's actually the people who think that AL is the only way. There are a plenty of more ways to succeed and without much of a tension.

Sometimes after hearing what is the future expectation of a 4 Year special graduate in some fields I only see doing a PhD as their only target. But they don't plan for something afterwards.

I have not mentioned that sacrifice everything to pass the A/L, it will make your life worthwhile, life will be miserable if you fail the A/L or everything will come to you after you went to university. But there can be people who have these kind of ideas. If those ideas arise; we can reply them with your comments. Otherwise it is not related.
I started this thread with an idea of being help to the people who need to pass the A/L. So I need to appear helpful comments within this thread. The elimination of misconceptions or career guidance is a broad topic to be discussed.
