its not about being jealous. just cz u have money does not mean u can waste it. Do something worthful with it. i know its not always value for money people looking for. most kotuwe kade naanas have latest iphones whom have no idea on opening the camera. they just use it to take calls. for some, its status maintenance.

once i met an ambassador who ws seated and looking at the road and said, Sri lanka is a developing country and a country like this cannot have vehicles like what u see on the road (ferrari, Lamborghini bmw n mercs) all of these comes out of debt and other un-authentic sources. it is one of the reasons why, this country never gets developped. cz it is peoples minds where the problem is

im telling not cz i cant have it. i personally hate apple and samsung. the best phone for me is the phone which fulfill my requirement which does not go by the brand or the price. i get to use all of the iphones from 3g to x and 11 on the way and i very well know the amount of so called class of people who fall for it

if i want to get a phone and i have 3.5 lax for it. i would get a phone for say about for50 and il get a macbook for poor school where 100s of kids are benefited. change ur attitude and do good

Android phones are very popular among tuk tuk drivers, mason bas, etc. I don't think there is one particular phone model only being used by educated people. We should be able to respect others choices and it's not our place to judge what they do with their money.

Tell the ambassador that those people at-least pay larger taxes to build all those roads and maintain all those government owned schools, hospitals and universities (except for politicians).

The only "un-authentic source" source that I know of is the abuse of government permits and I'm totally against the whole concept of it.

None of us know if those people are in debt or not. Even if they are, they are the ones who pay their debts instead of whining about governments, weather, etc.

The country will only develop if people contribute for it. Sitting back looking at the vehicles on the road and whining doesn't help.

You could do this only if
1. you have enough money for an expensive phone
2. but you don't want an expensive phone
3. there are no other things you could do with the remaining balance after buying a cheap phone
4. and you prefer to donate the remaining balance to someone else

I wouldn't blame anyone who doesn't match with the same criteria.

cos, people here are already paying high taxes in day-to-day basis. We already have free education and free health care, which are made possible by those taxpayers.

All those information you mentioned are supposed, to sum up to the conclusion that the phone isn't worth the money Apple is asking for it right? And that's based on the value of money from your perspective. This is different from person to person. I don't understand why people are trying to judge what others are paying for based on their own sense of value for the money.

All of the fuss I see online is mostly about how costly the iPhone is and the specs aren't worth the price, etc, etc. Ever wondered how different a Range Rover supposed to be from a Wagon R to be worth the price tag on it? It should at least be able to take you to Mars in 3 days maximum right? Well, guess what? That's not the case for some people! Some hotels cost almost the same price as an iPhone, per night.

Value of money is different from person to person. It mostly depends on how hard do you have to work to earn that money. Not about how much you have. Some people have to work day and night to earn some money while another person might have to work just 2 hours to earn the same amount. And the richest don't even have to work and money works for them! Judging whether the things others are paying for is worthy or not is a stupid thing to do.

No mcn..its not about how others spend their money. As you mentioned, we can't compare Wagon R against Range Rover and that's totally ok... That's because the range rover has new tech..So it's totally ok

Western countries have limitations with their mobile phones and for them this is acceptable. But other countries have so many selections and that's why apple loosing their market in the world. And in here SL, you can see there are so many iPhone 6plus / 7 and even 8 models available in the stores without being sold.. A Few years back, Apple did a marvelous job and opened a whole new level for smart phones.. But now days, they are doing nothing new but the price tag is high.

Most ppl here in SL buying this product just to maintain their status only.. Correct me if I am wrong.. Because the companies maintain their brand name by implementing this fake status thing in ppl mind. So people buy this without comparing with other products.This is not brand loyalty..This is stupidity.
