Below 5? Lets wait until the year ends. We currently have the best economy in 10 years. Not for ditwa and trump, it would have surpassed the post war boom. Sure these guys fucked up few things. But trust is there due to minimal corruption. Thats how the rupee recovered from lowest performing to best performing.
We don’t have the best economy in 10 years. Any positive aspects with regards to the economy in 2024-2025 were only because of the reforms implemented by the previous government under Ranil and this government sticking to the same plan.
If not for Covid, Gota would have completed his 5 year term and AKD would not be even president.

And this is not Ranil’s plan. Ranil just banned all imports to collect reserves. He stuck to the IMF. I’ll give him that. 50 years in the parliament. Didn’t raise a finger against corruption. The old man has nothing to give now.
Stop playing the corruption card over and over when this government has failed miserably in recovering any of those “stolen assets” they claimed pre-election.
I think they have lost more public funds due to negligence /incompetence than any of those alleged “frauds”.
And SL did not go bankrupt due to corruption or politicians stealing public funds……stop believing that pachoris…,,you really believe the rajapaksas stashed away billions of dollars in Uganda? .

It recovered due to trust on the govt.SL certainly went bankrupt due to corrupt politicians. Who will invest here when you have to give a 10% commission to some stupid politician? Do you know how much we have to pay for that highway MR built? Do you know that most of it directly went to his pocket? Do you know what it cost to this country to buy back Sri Lankan airlines just because naki maina wanted Emirates to cancel businees class seats just to accomodate him and his wife? Do you know that we are still paying for what he did? Those are just few off the top of my head. You will find plenty if you do some research. So dont come and tell me the corrupted acts of those buggers didn’t cause this country to fall. Where would it have ended? Did Ranil come and end it? We gave everyone plenty of chances. So this govt is 100 times better for me than being ruled by those senile idiots. Let them make mistakes. Thats more dignified than knowingly stealing public money. As a citizen with a backbone I’m happy about how this country is governed right now.
