My interpretation of the third precept (AKA Kāmesu micchācāra) is to refrain from harmful sexual acts. For me these mean sexual harassment, extramarital sex and rape. I don’t see anything wrong with consensual sex between two adults even from the same sex. There is nothing wrong with that.

I completely disagree.. Their sexual orientation, or how or what they do doesn't matter .. If both parties consent, then what is the problem ? OK, maybe it is against the so called "accepted social norms" but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. So how can it be a sin ? Just because you and I don't like it doesn't make it wrong. Try to see the bigger picture...

In my view of Buddhism, it is not going to any extremes.
I have not seen any strong restrictions for sex in Buddhism.
Only thing I have seen sex of married people who having sex except their spouse is come under "kaama michchachara"
Gay, Lesbian or prostitution sex has no come under this till it is not effected to any married family life.

for discussion imo : by observing "kamesu michchcara or kamaye waradawa hasirima " gives us the meaning that although it's acceptable to have the sexual feeling, we must not do it in the wrong way.

I define "not do it in the wrong way."as this :
Firstly there should be no harm to OURSELVES[assuming that we are the ppl whose doin the karma] or the DOER in any means
Secondly there should be no harm to everyone who are connected with us / rest of the world

harm can happen mentally or physically.

i.e [mentally] : if we 're tend to have sex very frequently forgetting all other work; our progress, family issues etc. we will loose the right attiudes which leads us to nirvana

i.e [physically] : i dont have to mention rite! , std viruses, unwanted stress etc...
