I'm not sure why you said you were surprised to see that the tuk tuk driver was not a "කළු කැත කාලගෝල වගේ වේසිගෙ පුතෙක්" but a "වැදගත් පාට සුදු කොල්ලෙක්. පුදුමයි" I've felt this statement because I'm a guy that can be described as "කළු කැත කාලගෝල වගේ" but I have a decent income, a good educational background, and a loving family, but most people I've met value the color. why? The majority of Sri Lankans are black guys and have short posture, we can't change what we inherited.

Same here bro. I also have a darker skin tone. However the thing is even I don't like my skin color, cz if my friends took a group photo with me, most of the time I am ugly as hell while others who have fair skin look far better than me. Sometimes people have these weird preconceptions, that are wrongly assumed by some false claims. I once met a friend who is Buddhists and had a minor disability. He said that once a famous professor claimed that children with disabilities are born into cursed families, sinned families, and if the parents have sinned, the karma will punish them by giving them a child with a disability. I know that guy, his family, and what their parents used to do for living. They are such an honorable family that I am positively sure that they have never been associated with wrongdoings. But alas, we can't change what people thinks.
