Ru Weerasuriya කියල පොරක් ඉස්සලම දෙන්නේ talk එකක්! ඌ ලංකාවේ එකෙක් බොලව්!
Ru has over 11 years of experience in the entertainment industry and, before co-founding Ready At Dawn Studios®, served as a Senior Artist with industry-renowned developer Blizzard Entertainment™.
Initially working on Starcraft: Brood War™, Ru then contributed to the blockbuster Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos™ and its equally acclaimed expansion, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne™, his distinctive visual style influencing the direction of both game and cinematic art. As Concept, Storyboard Artist and Matte Painter, he led the Cinematic art direction for Warcraft™ III, Starcraft: Ghost™ and World of Warcraft™, and helped the Blizzard™ Film Department win numerous awards and accolades over the years. His work has been published in several books and magazines, including The Art of Warcraft™, The Art of World of Warcraft™, Dungeons&Dragons™ books and Monster Manuals™.
Prior to working for Blizzard, Ru studied at the Art Center College of Design in both Switzerland and Pasadena, California, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Transportation Design. He further developed his skills working as a freelance illustrator.
As Co-founder and Creative & Art Director of Ready At Dawn Studios®, Ru leads the company’s creative development, as well as its art & design supervision. For the last few years, he has also served on the judging panel of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' achievement awards, and recently as a member of the Visual Arts Advisory Board for the Game Developers Conference.
A native of Sri Lanka, having grown up in Switzerland, Ru has lived and worked in Southern California since 1996.
