Yeah those recalls had nothing to do with DCT transmissions failing prematurely due to wear caused by heat which is the real issue here

Not really, no. The design seem to work fine under driving conditions in Japan, Honda would've recalled it otherwise. It has to do with ambient temps and traffic conditions in Sri Lanka.

Hyundai recently intoduced Venue to India which is a DCT, it has a 4-stage transmission temperature warning system which throws the vehicle into limp mode at first and outright disables the accelerator input at later stages to prevent the transmission from working under harmful temperatures
