The Tiger organization in a guerrilla organization was a traditional army ruling a territory because of that stupid war-political policy of Sri Lankan rulers. Later, Rajiv Gandhi and Ranasinghe Premadasa paid compensation for it with their lives and Sri Lankan security forces had to sacrifice 25,000 lives for 20 years (1989-2009) years. Other human and economic disasters that have occurred are irreplaceable.

So the bottom line is the whole afghan situation is a side effect of American -Russian cold war?
Well may be more than just a side effect.
Anyway cold war has ended.. Soviet collapsed but still afghans suffer.
