Hello. I am the manager in charge of customer relations at Janashakthi Insurance.
I am sad to see some of the nasty and unfair comments and criticism on our company . Here are the facts.
The accident had been reported by the insured and the on-site assessor had a serious doubt about the driver since the insured could not clearly describe the accident. There were several contradictions in the description of accident narrated by the insured, his wife and the son. Therefore, assessor suggested to arrange an investigation immediately. The independant investigation revealed that insured's son had driven the vehicle at the time of accident and the son does not posses a valid driving license. We have clear proof with eye witness confirming the actual facts about the accident. Hence the claim was rejected.
Please understand that sometimes people could be trying to create pressure on the internet so we might pay a claim that is false.
If this person was sure he could get a claim he can go to the ombudsman who will look at this impartially . The ombudsman is like a judge and he is there to look at any disputes or unfair claims. It needs no money- so rich or poor can go and complain to him.. so any insurance related injustice has a proper place for sorting out .
Please understand there is also a moral issue here if un-icensenced drivers or underage people drive around and endanger other people lives- people can get hurt, maimed or killed. It could be your son or daughter or brother or sister.. think about that.
We cannot and mustn't forget the thousands of innocent victims of such irresponsibility. Stop and think before you all just get into conversations without all the facts.. you might be led astray..
Let me assure you we pay some of the highest claims in the market relative to premuim earned.
On average daily we settle 180 claims amounting to Rs.10,000,000/- and there is no reason for us to deny liability without any valid reason.
We pride ourselves in being fair and paying our dues . We are 100% local and proud to be so.
At the time of the Tsunami we paid the highest payouts because it was a national tragedy and We Care.
We are responsible and committed to protect our customers from unfortunate accidents .But We CANNOT pay for false claims especially when other lives are risked irresponsibly.
Too many people die by road accidents many of them unnecessary. Many young lives are tragically ended.
