No world would want to create drugs without side effects.Medical industry survive on that.I'm sure aliens are corrupted too.At least any other human world is like this.

i dont think drug are *intentionally* made to have side effects... :baffled:

just that, science is not yet advanced enough...

Do you think science is so incapable of creating a drug without any side effect? They juat don't want to

idk,, im but confused about waves and oscillation,,,

but stars light propergate to all directions...

but maybe thats because its emit light spherically...

    idk.. :baffled:

    not just that:)
think about the solid angle we should receive those signals
it could be 0.00000000000000001 steradians given the enormous distance

assume you r in a far away planet ,if you wanna send a signal u have to make sure u direct it towards earth right? I guess its kind of like the dish tv antenna

no no man ,say u r on the sun.if u have a laser gun which way u should direct it to send a signal to earth?

I don't think this would be a problem. We have already found thousands of exoplanets which are believed to have environments good for life. So what we have to do is aim our radio telescopes in that direction.

If there is an intelligent alien civilization, they must be smart enough to find just like us that the earth has an environment which can give rise to a intellligent civilization. so they wouldn't just send signals in random directions. they would send signals directly towards us along with all the other earth like planets. so we don't have to listen to every possible direction.

the paradox is we still haven't heard anything :(

we can see sun because it emits em waves,

no matter from what direction we look at it, we can see the sun...:nerd:

this really is the case  but with weaker em waves, you have to aim the antenna directly towards the direction from which they are coming from or otherwise all you would get is some weak signals.

hmm that clears it up.. :)

it basically means we have to direct the receiver to a great precision to identify a alien generated wave over background noise

but some frequency ranges don't get affected by background noise like other ranges. So it should be possible that they are sending us messages in such noise free frequencies. we are listening for such ranges for years but we haven't found anything so far :sorry:

yeah dude that's what I have been telling you all along
the problem is you sway it by a millionth of a degree you gonna miss the planet by millions of light years :)

few years isnt enough , i think we have to listen for much more time to have realistic chance of finding another human like civilization,

afaik they don't have to want to communicate with us. if they are sending probes and communicate with them, we must be able to detect at least those signals. then there's this hypothesis that if they want to observe the other life thriving planet without ever having contact with the species that live on their planets, they would park their probes in zones that are least affected by gravitational pull of our sun. there are few such zones in our solar system and afaik near earth zones are found to be artificial probe free :( the other zones are beyond pluto i guess. we have yet to check that zone. but none of our telescopes are good enough to differ a meteor from an artificial probe at that distance :sorry:

advancement don't suddenly appear out of thin air :) they have to gradually develop and they would inevitably go through a phase when they might want to establish connection with other intelligent civilizations. So even if they are advanced enough not to communicate with us, their past would have been stupid enough to send us some signals  so we must hear from such an underdeveloped civilization according to that argument. so paradox is still there :sorry: :(
