I had a similar issue years ago with a similar model. The garage people said it was the ECU and needed to be replaced and were asking for around 100,000.. I was doubtful as it was a new vehicle at that time. The issue was engine light was on and excessive fuel burn. I asked them test with a working ECU. Ultimately I was a wire short in throttle position sensor, not in the Unit.
