මේ කතාව පටන් ගන්නේ 1923 දී. Hachiko කියන්නේ 1923 දී ඉපදිලා දීලා 1935 දී මිය ගිය බල්ලෙක්. දැන් හැමෝම බලනවා ඇති මොකක්ද මෙයාගේ විශේෂත්වය කියල.
Hachiko කියන්නේ ජපානේ ඉන්න සුනක වර්ගයක් වන akita කියන සුනකවර්ගයට අයත් බල්ලෙක්. Hachiko ගේ නමේ තේරුම තමයි Hachi - අංක 8 . ko - කුමාරයා. Akita කියන්නේ
සාමන්යෙන් තමන්ගේ ස්වාමියට ගොඩක් සමීප වන සුනඛ වර්ගයක්.



ඇත්තටම හචිකෝ ඇයි විශේෂ? ගොඩක් අය දැන් මෙහෙම හිතවන ඇති. Hachiko ට 1924 දී තමන්ගේ ස්වාමියා මුණ ගැහෙනවා. එයාගේ නම තමයි Hidesaburō Ueno.
මොහු Tokyo විශ්වවියාලේ මහාචාර්ය වරයෙක්. මේ මහාචාර්ය වරයා තමන්ගේ නිවසේ ඉඳං විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයට යන්නේ එන්නේ දුම්රියෙන්.( University of Tokyo). හචිකෝ හැමදාම පුරුදුවෙලා හිටියා මේ මහාචාර්යවරයා එක්ක
දුම්රිය ස්තානයට යන්නත් එන්නත්. මේ විදිහට අවුරුදු දෙකක් ගත වුනා. 1925 දී මේ මහාචාර්ය වරයා විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේදී හදිසි හර්දයාබාධයකින් මිය යනවා. ඒත් එදත් හචිකෝ තම ස්වාමියා එනකන් මේ දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේම බලාගෙන ඉන්නවා.
ඒත් තම ස්වාමියා නැවතත් එම දුම්රිය ස්ථානයෙන් නොපැමිණෙන බවට නොදන්නා මේ සතා මීළඟ අවුරුදු 9 තුලදීම සෑම දිනකම හවසට එම දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ තම ස්වාමියා එනතුරු බලාගෙන ඉන්නවා. එම දුම්රිය ස්ථානයෙන් නිතරම යන එන මිනිස්සු Hachikoට ගොඩක් ආදරේ කරා. එයාගේ දීර්ග බලහිදීමේ කාලයේදී Hachikoට ආහාර ආදිය ලබා දුන්නා.

මේ කාලයේදීම Tokyo සරසවියේ සිසුවෙක් මේ Akita කියන බලු වර්ගය ගැන පරීක්ෂණ කීපයක් සිදු කරා. මොහුට හචිකෝද මුණ ගැහුනා. මෙම සිසුව හචිකෝ ගැන පත්තර ලිපි කීපයක් පල කෙරුණා. 1932 දී මේ සුනකය ගැන මුළු ජපනයම දැන ගන්නවා.
ගුරුවරු සහ දෙමාපියන් හචිකොව ආදර්ශයට ගෙන ළමයින්ට පක්ෂපාති බව ගැන කියා දෙන්න හුරු වුනා.හචිකෝ ජපානයේ පක්ෂපාති බවේ සංකේතය බවට පත්වුනා.
