Working as an associate Software Engineer C/C++ for Zebra Technologies[formally known as motorola solutions ]. Completed probation period and become a permanent employee.
Looking forwarded to do my masters.

It's all about skills bro, not the degree nameplate, however without that nameplate you will never be hired at all.


However if you do BIT never trust any institute. Few people are getting passed with project. And almost all institutes are doing nothing more than company advertising. If you are selfish and know about economy BIT is a good choice for you.

Form BIT +project people around 10,000 of first year registries , only around 300- getting passed. Even from them they only 98% were doing jobs. It's serious and what he told is correct up to some extend.

If you really don't love IT, then no matter what course you are in don't get into IT at all. Working in a typesetting [ I already done] will make you a owner of a typesetting one day very sooner.because I personally know we paid around 40,000/- LKR as our loan to the bank , and 20,000/- LKR for living cost.There were only 2 years of loan time that we had, anyway now my father is only doing that shop. If only think about salary, then doing a typesetting is better , if you say no read the bellow.

1. you have to work around 8-9 hours a day, sitting at your cubical. You are getting fatter and fatter. You may need control your food to survive here. Plus forget about the taste just think only about your future in IT.
2. Reading the code and fixing bugs are not enjoyable when you first join the company, the people who enjoy it had gone through that punishment and now they are enjoying it with time. Because they really love it.
3. And the worst thing, you WILL hate transport, the condition of busses and day by day it's getting worse unless you are near to your workplace.
4. You can't dress as you wish. Even in open companies like Google, even they don't have dress codes, your seniors hate you dressing as you want, unless your senior/mentor is from your opposite sex and you managed to become a good morning pleasure to her.

So he got a point, if only money, IT not for you. doing a typesetting is far more better. Good life, good money ,longer life too.

Infortec Internation Institute එකේ මම ඉගෙන් ගත්තේ.
එතන හරියට ඉගැන්නුවේ නැති නිසා. සල්ලි ගෙවපු නිසා ත්. විබාගේ පාස් වෙන්න ඕන නිසාත් තනියෙම කරගත්තා.
එකෙන් ඕන දෙයක් තනියෙන් ඉගෙන ගන්න පුළුවන් කම ලැබුනා.

මම ගියේ අවුරුදු 2 කට කලින්,

දැන්නම් දන්නා එකෙක්ක්වත් යවන්නේ නැ. Nugegoda branch එකේ උගන්වන යට සුදුසු කම් නැ. ඉස්සර හිටියා දැන් නැ.

Many are asking this question. Even my friends, "hay you only done BIT but you looks smarter than one who did electronics engineering @UOM " , may be true, may be I'm better skilled than an average EE@UoM but not from the best. I got lots of respect to UoM, and best minds out there.

It's like this, if we compare an average guy from BIT/InfoTec with UoM guy , UoM guy is way too step from us. But in everyplace they got lazy people. UoM are not an exception.

and compared with our failing rates UoM is far better, because as a batch they have the chance to do KNOWLEDGE SHARING where we didn't. But when it comes to do a research and do something independently we always comes first, because we know what is self studying just because we are external students. I'm pretty sure this will help me in masters. I'm thanking for BIT for make me that learner.

And there are BIT@UoM too, and it's syllabus is more wider than BIT@UCSC. However last word is never trust on lectures or institutes. They are all just like fun places.
