You are waiting for a hariyata ahena day, which again the decision maker is you.It is precisely written how to do kayagathasathi.budda marks it as the eka dammo to sotapanna and beyond.Practice in the sense its the bana from here onwards.

    මන්, මන් ගැන නෙමෙයි බන් කියන්නේ.. මන් කොහොමත් බන අහනවා.

    මන් කියන්නේ,

I think i have answered this many times....anyways

The Sheet Music and the Symphony

Imagine a piece of intricate sheet music written by a master composer. This sheet music represents the "thing" in question—like the static words printed on the pages of a book.

When a group of people look at this sheet music, they all stare at the exact same ink, the same staves, and the same notes. Yet, their minds will interpret it completely differently:

    • The Mathematician looks at the page and sees structure, marveling at the precise time signatures, fractions, and rhythm.
    • The Historian looks at the notes and sees the cultural context, arguing that the piece represents a rebellion against the traditional forms of the composer's era.
    • The Novice Musician looks at the exact same page and feels overwhelmed by the sheer density of black dots, interpreting the piece only as a chaotic, insurmountable challenge.
These people could sit in a room for days, endlessly debating what the sheet music "truly means." Each person is reading the same text, but filtering it through the unique lens of their own mind.

you are missing one crucial point here... this music was written for regular people, not for musicians..

also, in the sheet music itself each note already comes with instructions explaining exactly how it should be interpreted within itself in the context. as long as someone follows the explanations within the context, they can understand it correctly through knowledge.

but the moment they start interpreting the notes through their own experience (as many do), mathematics, history, personal biases, past or whatever they are no longer reading the music, they are reading their own mind into the music.

However, all of their interpretations pale in comparison to the actual experience of the music.

When you sit in a concert hall and a full, live orchestra finally plays that piece, the symbols on the page no longer matter. The physical vibrations of the cellos echo in your chest, the swell of the violins washes over you, and the sheer power of the sound bypasses your intellect completely. You aren't analyzing it; you are feeling it.

The Takeaway: Words, concepts, and interpretations are just the ink on the page—a map pointing to something else. They will always be subjective and debated. But the direct, lived experience is the live symphony itself, which is infinitely richer, more visceral, and far more profound than any interpretation of it could ever be.

    ..... An excerpt ....

All of you are analyzing and not feeling :)

this is the interesting part.. sure, the actual music experience always surpasses knowledge...
BUT you have to ask: what exactly are you experiencing?

remember, the composer wrote the original music 2500 yrs ago..today, you are surrounded by 100s of different performances, each claiming to be the true original..

sure...each performance will give you feelings, vibrations, emotions, chest thumping resonance....BUT, NONE OF THAT tells you whether the music you are hearing is actually the original composition..

for each performer, THEIR VERSION feels authentic. for each listener, theri experience feels real. but that doesnt guarantee it is the real original music...

this is where the sheet music (the knowledge) becomes essential... not to give you the music experience..not to replace the live symphony. BUT to help you identify which performance is closest to the original.

without the sheet music.. you could spend your entire life listening to someones personal remix, believing it is the authentic composition. you would enjoy it, you wud feel it, but you wud never know you were experiencing a distortion..

this sheet music helps you you protect from mistaking someones personal remix for the true original...

hmm... no matter what you do, what you have explained in the last paragraph happens, so have no chance of interpreting your way to the truth.
this is the interesting part.. sure, the actual music experience always surpasses knowledge...

I don't think you will ever identify the actual music experience as the real one through knowledge. Even if you do, there is no point of it. I would rather go down the path of questioning myself, i.e. "Is this the music I wanted to listen, or is this music relaxes me, calm me down, make me happy.... etc. That has a purpose rather than listening to technically sound and knowledge validated music IMHO. This is my view of it...

Always remember, criticism is easy, contribution is difficult. People who always criticize, don't have the stamina to contribute. 🤷‍♂️
