You are probably elder than me :-D anyway I'll call you machan (as always i do as in elakiri :-D)

Today I got the chance to read two good thread so far, one is from @gnilukshi

and other one from you @HAneo

Thank you for sharing your experience. By the way what position you apply for ? I raised that question because my knowledge is not enough to answer that first 3 questions you had put here.

There are some questions that a prospective employer should not be asking. Like about whether you have children or your likelihood of having kids. In some countries it could be conceived as discriminatory.
Even not illegal a question like "What ages are your children?" can have an impact. Because the information gleaned from these kinds of direct and possibly offensive questions shouldn't become information on which the employer relies to make a hiring decision.
That's why the HR usually avoids these kinds of questions.

However, if they are already aware that you have kids, they might ask questions on deciding how they should cater for you in terms of addressing any needs & concerns for the benefit of the child.

And ළමයාගේ education එක somewhat personal.

    Good luck to OP 🎉🍀

Just saw your reply and I have the same thoughts.
Agreeing with the questions about kids' age, HR can clearly use this information to filter out candidates who would have fewer family commitments, and who can put extra hours into the company.

Had the OP interviewed for a teaching position I would have expected these kinda questions but for a tech position, this is kinda odd. Or they might have danced around a bit ;)
