Flwmming was prasied due to the fact that he lead NZ win matches only with very few resources... i dont even know of any NZ cricketers who played in 90's. very mediocre team. yet NZ were able to win fair amount of matches... i honestly haven't seen or can remember flemming doin captaincy, so i can't give my personal view,
my point is that a captain shouldn't be given credits for his win or losses, a captain can control very few things. it's upto bowlers,batsmen and fielders to win a match. captain can maybe do 10% to change an outcome of a match mainly through optimal bowling changes and field placing. Dohni's bowling changes are not very good most of the time. he has been criticized for not being a attacking captain. because of is defensive attitude most of the time opposition team make tons of runs. but luckily for him he has kohli,raina and many other run machines including himself to make any target look chaseable..
key point's you should realize is that Dhoni himself didn't make this new young indian talent, he isn't optimally changing his bowlers and his field placings are nothing more than ordinary.
another thing i fogot that you or someone else mentioned about Sehwag saying he was dropped due to his fielding inbility.., that's not true atalll. he was droped because of his batting inconsistancy and bit of politics. how can Sehwag compete with likes of Rohith Sharma who is from mumbai..
