Latest water level data shows Glencourse, Hanwella, and Holombuwa have all surpassed Major Flood Stage, with levels continuing to climb rapidly.

Glencourse: Now around 21.3 m
Hanwella: Now around 10.6 m
Holombuwa: Around 6.8 m

These levels are well above danger limits, and the rising trend indicates flood waters will move downstream quickly over the next few hours.

Communities along the Kelani River — including Kaduwela, Kolonnawa, Wellampitiya, Kotikawatta, Kelaniya, Biyagama and low-lying Colombo suburbs — must stay on high alert.

If you are in a vulnerable area, move to higher ground immediately.

Do not wait for water to reach your home — evacuation becomes difficult once the river overtops roads.
