3+ year experience, Linux kernel + driver development and firmware. Working for one future 500.
I like math and theory. I like complex things. More than repair a TV, I love to understand how it's circuits work. What are their equations etc.
When I was introduced to a computer by my father. I wonder where that "System error!" , "Virus Found!" things pops up. So I learn harder and read and understand how they work.
I dig into open source projects like linux kernel and understand their subsystems and how each subsystem function with each other. Currently I have worked with USB driver project, embedded projects and now AOSP and image processing. Do those things teach on BIT, of course not !
That's why I'm telling you,
It would be more easy if you got there to ENTC. Lots of resources and lots of industry connections that you can get your hands dirty with.
So do your A/L again. Study the 3 subjects with love, and allocate full time into it. It's not much hard to pass A/L, it's not a big deal at all. If you feel bored and fully comfortable with A/L exam , then spend some of your additional time in hobby electronics, like PIC projects, a good book to start reading is "The Art of Electronics".
Take my word, do the 3rd shy if your mind is same as mine.
It's not all about the money you know, I'm still dreaming to have a leap, but I had to save half of my salary for at least 2 years for that. But the mechanic who repair them ( just only have 6 month diploma) will have 3 or four. That's the reality of life, everything is not the money.
