තව දවස් 45 (මාස 1 1/2 ඇතුලට ) ETCA අත්සන් කරනවා. මේක අත්සන් කලොත් IT විතරක් නෙවෙයි. අනිත් රැකියා වලටත් ප්‍රශ්න එනවා.. ඒ නිසා නිදන් හිටියා ඇති. දැන්වත් වරෙල්ලා. පුළුවන් විදිහට මේක නතර කරන්න උදව් කරපල්ලා.. තව ටික කාලයයි.. මේ කලේ කරන දෙයක් තමයි. පස්සේ අඩලා වැඩක් නෑ.

I am working in a garment. Do u know our main problem. Lack of labors. We need more people for sawing. But day by day those people are leaving and go for shops or drive a three wheel. See how many people are working in shops (like Kandy/Odel/ Thilakawardhana) they know only checking Facebook. Even they cannot replace a bulb. This is not a good trend. so best this is start learning and developing our own skills and do something. I worked with Indians and they are like rockets. they go fast n they know how to catch big bosses than us. Without complaining to government it is our duty to start working.

Even as software engineers based on our performances, this may not be a problem for us (as long as we perform and we have proved our performance in last few years) Problem would be for fresh graduates who are looking for jobs, first they have to compete with low salaries paid for Indians. and for IT executives and IT support folks where as they could be easily replaced Unlike in garment field when it comes to IT there are no boundaries, from the software engineer to data entry operator we could name them as IT people. Even accountants who enter data into systems could label as IT and can be replaced

Had countries like Singapore or China thought this way they would have been still developing countries. Of course there are bad sides of ETCA but also a lot of good things too. I think if countries like SL to move forward have to take the risk. It is how we manage the risk and how adoptive we are to the variations would decide final outcome. Better late than never.... Hope top level politicians would handle this professionally... personally I don't not deny the concept of movement like ETCA.

Of course most of in most of the industrial sectors technologically SL is lagging by about 20 years , but currently India is in pace with the technological movement of the world. Of course we need technical expertise to develop our industries technologically to be competent. For Singapore case we are too late to apply their model to our country but they have used the same concept in a different manner, if I take an instance as I am currently working in a Singapore university I have some exposure to the quality of graduates here, they are not highly competent or skillful as we assume, but how come they manage to develop their country like this, they have open their gates to foreign expertise to work in their country, day by day locals also absorb the technology,experience and skills of the foreigners working with them. Here for most of the companies they have a quota of 5:1 ratio for foreign employment( 5 locals: 1 foreigner). China has also used similar concept in a different way and they have manage to absorb technology from top develop countries and now they are even competing with the top companies of those developed countries. Of course they have very strong regulatory bodies to regulate the system. So if our politicians manage this well this will be a good initiative in my personal opinion.
